How do I remove my iCloud account from my iPad?

Use Method 1 if you have your iPad in front of you. Use Method 2 if you can't access your iPad, for example if the screen is faulty or if you don't physically have the iPad in front of you.

Method 1

  1. Select 'Settings'
  2. Select 'iCloud'
  3. Press 'Delete Account'
  4. Enter Apple ID and password
  5. Select 'Turn Off'

Method 2

  1. Log into iCloud.com with your Apple ID and password
  2. Select 'Find iPhone'
  3. Click 'All Devices'
  4. Select the iPad you wish to remove
  5. Select 'Remove from Account'
    If you do not see this option, first select 'Erase iPad'
    If it does not erase immediately, select 'Cancel Erase Request'
    The 'Remove from Account' option should now be available

Please note you must remove your iCloud account via one of the methods above before you reset the iPad.

  1. Turn device ON
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select General
  4. Select Reset
  5. Select Erase All Content and Settings
  6. Enter passcode if prompted
  7. Select Erase iPhone/iPad
